Tampa Bay

I appreciate your interest in our artwork here at PEB.  My name is Link Furrow, and beyond webmastering this site, I do occassionally paint.   I have no formal training whatsoever, but I do think my style was heavily influenced by the Drafting & Design program I went through during high school.  It was offered by the Valley Vocational Technical Center, and it was a very progressive program taught by a computer genius named Frank Wollner.  He now runs his own computer contracting firm, Mini Solutions, Inc., out of Staunton, Virginia.  VVTC discontinued the Drafting & Design course several years ago, and I feel that it is a terrible loss of an option for students in our county.  While each particular high school in our county does offer an elective one - semester of Drafting, it cannot compare to the half - day, two year program that was offered by VVTC.  It's where I first learned to make web pages!

In June of 2004 I completed this painting based on the colors of Tampa Bay as it appears in the photographs found on Sara Widdowson's Profile.   In real life it is much larger, 24 inches wide / 18 inches high.  Acrylic paint on hardback canvas.

When hurricane Ivan struck near Tampa in early September of 2004, I was quite horrified of the idea of Sara being caught in the midst of the destruction of a major hurricane.
